Event time:
Thursday, November 17, 2022 - 10:00am to 11:00am
Location:
Online via Zoom See map
Event description:

Many of the drivers of gender inequality in the HIV epidemic are the same as those driving inequality in the COVID-19 pandemic. During the COVID-19 pandemic, women and girls are at heightened risk of domestic violence and inadequate access of essential health care including HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health services. To better prepare for the future, during this conversation we will discuss the imperative to address the underlying social factors like gender inequality that exacerbate these pandemics. Speakers include UNAIDS executive director Winnie Byanyima and Yale’s Dr. Luke Davis, Associate Professor of Epidemiology and of Medicine.
